We are excited to announce a Call for Projects for a special showcase taking place on the 1st to 2nd of October 2025 in Belgrade, Serbia, within the framework of the SETC-2025 & ITA Tunnelling Awards 2025 (1-3 October).

We are spotlighting “Projects in the Region and Beyond” and providing a platform to present key tunnelling and underground infrastructure developments.

As part of the SETC 2025, projects will benefit from:

SETC-2025

As Southeastern Europe rapidly advances with numerous strategic projects, the upcoming conference will highlight both current and planned tunnel and underground construction initiatives. Attendees will gain valuable insights into future trends, explore opportunities to forge professional connections, and enhance their knowledge in the ever-evolving field of tunnelling and underground infrastructure.

The conference will feature a diverse range of heavy-civil projects for transportation and infrastructure featuring tunnels and complex underground structures, including:

Metro tunnels
Railway projects
Road infrastructure
Hydraulic tunnels
Other significant tunnel projects and underground constructions

About the project showcase

Projects Presented Through Exhibition Booths

National Tunneling Associations (NTA) and/or Public Investment Authorities and Institutions (PIAI) (Ministries, Agencies, Public Infrastructure and Transportation Authorities, Local Governments) are designated as the primary representatives for showcasing tunneling and underground construction projects in the participating countries. The goal is to present key national initiatives, technological advancements, and strategic developments through dedicated exhibition booths. Projects from major private companies working regionally on project development and construction will be considered on case-by-case basis.

Booth Content and Equipment

The conference organizer provides an equipment booth (9 m²) to showcase your projects to conference attendees.
Visual Materials: Each booth will have an information panel that can display key project details, photographs, and technical specifications. Every booth will be equipped with an LED screen for project display.
Documentation and Model Display: NTA and PIAI and project teams will have the opportunity to showcase technical documentation, 3D models, and project mock-ups, as well as new technologies through simulations and animations. This will allow visitors to gain insight into the complexity and innovation of each project. These segments will enable visitors to actively participate and better understand the project.
Experience-Sharing Panels: During the conference, exhibitors can participate in panel discussions and engage in dialogue with the audience and other experts.

Full equipment booth – 9 m², which includes modular stand construction, information stand (100x40x100 cm) with a stool chair, low round table with chairs, light gray carpet (3×3 m) LED TV, country name and logo on panel, standard electricity socket 230 V/50 Hz and LED lighting.

What are we looking for?

Projects should demonstrate innovative ways in which tunnelling can contribute to preserving sustainable practices and addressing the evolving needs of society through advanced tunnelling techniques. These initiatives may involve cutting-edge research, innovative tunnelling projects, or actionable strategies that balance the needs of heritage conservation with modern infrastructure development.

Project eligibility

International exhibitors with relevant projects in the region are welcome: The projects should be from the region, which likely includes countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia, and Turkey. Projects from other neighbouring countries are encouraged and will be considered on case by case basis.
Completed within the last five years or currently ongoing: The projects should have concluded in the past five years , be substantially completed, or be approved and under construction at the time of the conference. This ensures the projects are relevant and reflect recent innovations and developments in the field.
Highlighting recent innovations and new insights: Showcase new technologies, methodologies, or approaches in tunnelling and underground construction, providing valuable insights into how the industry is advancing in terms of safety, sustainability, and efficiency.

Participation requirements

To take part in the Project Showcase, please provide the following:

Register for both days of the conference.
Provide a video or PowerPoint presentation of the Project including key project details such as objectives, challenges, solutions, and outcomes.
Branding materials aligned with the booth space.

Kindly note the availability is limited. The project selection will be based on project relevance, innovation, and its economic, social and environmental significance and impacts.

Submission guidelines

Project Title and Abstract (max. 200 words) – Provide a concise summary of the project.
Country – Indicate the country where the project is being implemented.
Project Objectives and Expected Outcomes – Outline the goals and anticipated impact.
Relevance to Tunnelling – Explain how the project contributes to tunnelling advancements.
Image – Submit one relevant high-resolution image (JPG/PNG) under 2MB that best represents your project.

Please confirm your interest in participating in Project Showcase by 21 April 2025 at exhibition@setc-2025.rs.

Please send your project proposal using the online form by 26 May 2025. Selected projects will be notified by 30 May 2025. Results will be communicated earlier to those who submitted within the previous deadline. All applicants will be informed of the outcome.

Exhibition area and booth layout

Space: The exhibition area at Sava Center will be organized to allow visitors to easily navigate between booths and explore all displays in detail. Booths will be grouped by countries that allow easier promotion of national delegations and enhance their visibility.
